Indications have emerged that the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has concluded plan to reshuffle his cabinet.
A source who pleaded anonymity said the decision of the governor to reduce the number of his aides was not unconnected with the forthcoming general election.
The source said that he was unsure whether the governor will return some of his aides who have governorship ambition, even as it was gathered that ‘real’ party men may be drafted in, as a means of pacifying them.
He said that in the new arrangement, there will be 12 commissioners, while some special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants may not make it back.
It was gathered that of all the aides of Ajimobi who have governorship ambition, only the health commissioner, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan, was said to be leaving no stone unturned in his bid to get the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The other two- Bimbo Adekanmbi and Ajiboye Omodewu who man the state’s finance and land ministries respectively were said to be in a fix.
“If they dare resign their appointment, that may be the end of their ambition as they will not get to see the governor as they want.
