Billy Hamilton is a human highlight reel in center field for the Reds. His speed and anticipation make incredible catch after incredible catch look easy for the Reds outfielder.

Well, there was nothing easy about this catch.

During the third inning of Tuesday’s game against the Padres, Carlos Asuaje drove a pitch to deep center field. Hamilton got an excellent jump off the bat and took off sprinting for the wall. He picked up the track of the ball at the last moment and leaped up against the wall to make an unbelievable over-the-shoulder catch.

We’ve seen a lot of great catches recently in Major League Baseball, and while this Hamilton catch won’t get the glory of jumping over a wall to rob a home run, it deserves all the credit for its difficulty.

Those are two of the toughest catches in baseball (over the shoulder and leaping), and he pulled both off in one motion. Hamilton is that good.
