Easy college football questions baffle on Jeopardy

Thursday night’s episode of Jeopardy featured a college-related category, and oh my, college football fans should look away.

Under the category “looking at colleges,” contestant Alec excitedly jumped at the chance to answer this $600 question:

You can write for its Prairie Schooner literary mag, plus you’re 6’5″, 330-you’d be a good Cornhusker lineman for this U.

Nebraska! That’s so easy. Let’s see how Alec fared:

Oh no, Alec. No, that’s not Oklahoma. My guess is that “Schooner” made him think “Sooner,” but Cornhusker should have been a giveaway. Luckily, Sharath jumped in and knew the answer, but even Sharath would find himself baffled by the easiest question. Name the school with this landmark:

It’s Notre Dame! Ah! I’m screaming at a video right now. None of the contestants knew that.

And yes, I’ll be the first to admit that I almost exclusively know sports answers on Jeopardy and miss everything else, but c’mon – that was easy money.
