Enugu CP warns against extortion, intimidation, harassment and unprofessional use of firearms


The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State , Mr Danmallam Mohammed, has warned police personnel against extortion, intimidation, harassment and unprofessional use of firearms on the public.

Mohammed, in a statement signed by Spokesman of the Police Command in the state, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, in Enugu on Tuesday, threatened to deal with any police officer who engaged in any manner of unprofessional conducts.

He gave the warning when he reacted to Monday’s incident at Opi/Nsukka/Obollafor Road where one Sgt. Luka Habila allegedly shot at a vehicle KED 233 SA and killed the vehicle conductor.

He said that Habila was currently in detention, adding that investigation by the state Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department was ongoing.

He said that the accused would face the police orderly room trial and prosecuted accordingly, adding that such an unprofessional conduct would not be condoned from any member of the Force.
