When IndyCar drivers have any free time away from their cars or the tracks, they will mess with each other. It’s almost guaranteed, and sometimes their antics get a little out of hand.
At Pocono Raceway ahead of the ABC Supply 500 on Sunday, Will Power, Conor Daly and Ed Carpenter didn’t exactly disguise themselves, but they pretended to be part of the security team and helped check credentials and parking passes. Despite obviously being recognized, they hassled fellow driver Carlos Munoz for a while.
That is, until James Hinchcliffe pulled up in a bright red Volkswagen Beetle, and they hilariously gave him a hard time about everything – from the unexpected car to being Canadian to not having his parking pass or, apparently, his dog. To be fair, the former Dancing With The Stars contestant‘s dog is absolutely adorable.
Still trying to keep up the security guard facade – while Daly teased Hinch about his parking pass looking like it was printed at Kinko’s – Power asks if he has any alcohol or firearms in the car.
Hinchcliffe: I have lots of both, yes.
Power: Well, you’re going to have to give them to me because I don’t have any.
Hinchcliffe: You swing by my bus and we’ll drink some booze and shoot some stuff.
That might be racing fans’ PSA to not go looking for their favorite drivers’ buses at the Tricky Triangle this weekend.
