Qatar Airways to Launch Chiang Mai Flights in December

Qatar Airways is to expand its rapidly growing
services to the Kingdom of Thailand with flights to the
northern city of Chiang Mai.

The new route, Qatar Airways’ fourth destination
in the country, comes in addition to existing services to the Thai
capital Bangkok, and to the popular beach destinations of Phuket and
Krabi in the south.

The new four-times weekly seasonal service will
operate between Doha and Chiang Mai (CNX), using a wide-body
aircraft, from December 2017 until May 2018.

Chiang Mai will be Qatar Airways' fourth destination in the Kingdom of Thailand

Flights between Doha and Chiang Mai will operate
every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Flight QR822 from Doha (DOH) to Chiang Mai (CNX)
is scheduled to depart at 20:05 and arrive at 06:00 the following
day (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun). The return leg, QR823, will depart Chiang Mai
at 07:10 to arrive back in Doha at

“Thailand continues to grow in popularity
with holiday-makers and it’s not hard to see why. Our new flights
to Chiang Mai mark our fourth route to this beautiful country,
reflecting the demand from our customers for more high-quality
leisure destinations,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief
Executive, Mr.
Akbar Al Baker. “Our
existing services to Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok are already
incredibly popular, especially with customers from European
countries such as the UK, France and Germany. Therefore, we are
delighted to announce yet another destination, offering our
renowned five-star service between Doha and Chiang Mai for leisure
travellers. It also demonstrates our commitment to expand our reach with ambitious new routes around the world, taking our
passengers to where they want to fly.”

Qatar Airways first
started flying to Thailand in 1996 with a service to Bangkok.
Flights then followed to Phuket and Krabi. The airline currently
offers five daily flights from Doha to Bangkok, as well as a
double-daily service from Doha to Phuket and three flights a week
from Doha to Krabi. Later this year,
Krabi will become a daily
, which means the total number of flights each week to
Thailand will rise to 60.
