URHOBO Peoples Integrity Organisation, UPIO, has appointed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief James Ibori, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Steve Oru and Secretary to the Delta State Government, SSG, Mr Ovie Agas, as its patrons.
National President of the group, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu who disclosed this when he led his members on a courtesy visit to the Speaker, explained that Governor Okowa and former Governor Ibori were grand patrons while Chief OborevworI, Dr Oru and Mr Agas are patrons.
While congratulating Chief Oborevwori on his emergence as Speaker of the House, he said the House under his leadership has passed good bills for the good governance and development of the state.
Okorodudu said the group has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Okowa and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Oborevwori for their collaboration, which has accelerated development in the state.
He also appealed to the leadership of the House to lift the three months suspension order on the member representing Ughelli South constituency, Mr Reuben Izeze.
In his remarks, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori told the group to continue to support activities of the House and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, adding that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done well in appointing a good number of Urhobo sons and daughters into his government.
Oborevwori thanked the group for the visit and commended them for protecting the interest of Urhobo people and urged the group to mobilize their people for the local government election.
